Who Walkie Desk is for
The same tool for professional support providers, in-house IT and anyone who wants to reach their home PC. Some concrete examples.
IT technicians and support providers
-
Out-of-hours maintenance
Pair the PCs of customers with a support contract and reach them in the evening or at weekends, when nobody is using them, for updates and checks.
-
The quick fix
A new customer calls you: you spell out walkiedesk.app/help, they run QuickSupport without installing it, read you the ID and password and accept the connection.
-
From the browser in front of you
From your PC, a laptop on the road or a customer’s computer: Chrome, Edge or Firefox is all you need.
-
Costs follow technicians
You pay one seat per connected technician, with up to 3 PCs open at once: whether you look after 20 or 2000 PCs makes no difference.
Companies and in-house IT
-
Office PCs and home workers
In-house IT reaches the company’s Windows PCs wherever they are, without a VPN and without opening ports on the office firewall.
-
Transparency for colleagues
Whoever is at the PC sees a frame with the name of whoever is connected and can end the session.
-
Control over access
Each PC is paired with a one-time code; a PC is removed from the account in the user area, and whoever administers it can revoke access from the PC itself.
-
Data in the European Union
Servers in Italy, backups in the EU, session content end-to-end encrypted: iDev cannot see it.
Individuals
-
Your home PC while you are away
Fetch a file or check a program on your home PC from your work browser or a laptop.
-
Helping a family member
Your parents start QuickSupport, read you the ID and password on the phone and always see that you are connected.
-
Free for personal use
At launch there will be a free plan for personal, non-commercial use, with limits. During the beta Walkie Desk is free for everyone.
-
Beware of fake technicians
No bank, public body or company will ask you to install a remote control program: how to recognise scams.
