Features
Everything Walkie Desk does today, in beta. What is in development is at the bottom of the page.
Unattended access
-
Your PCs, always reachable
Install Walkie Desk on your Windows PCs and reach them whenever you need, even when nobody is at the screen. The program runs as a Windows service.
-
Pairing with a one-time code
Pair each PC with your account using a 9-character code generated in the user area, valid for a few minutes. There is no limit on the number of paired PCs.
-
Whoever is at the PC sees the session
During the session a red frame surrounds the monitor with the name of whoever is connected and an “End” button.
-
The Windows tray app
Shows the status, pairs the PC, lists the authorised accounts and revokes their access, exports logs and tells you when a new version is available.
Support with QuickSupport
-
No installation
Your customer downloads QuickSupport from walkiedesk.app/help and runs it: nothing to install and no account needed.
-
Explicit consent
The customer reads you the ID and password; when you connect they see who you are and the session starts only if they press “Allow”.
-
Always visible
During the session a red frame surrounds the screen and the customer can end the session at any time.
-
Restart as administrator
When you need to work on Windows prompts that require administrator rights, the customer can restart QuickSupport as administrator.
Connect from the browser
-
Chrome, Edge or Firefox
Nothing to install on the computer you work from: sign in at walkiedesk.app and choose the PC.
-
Keyboard and mouse
Keyboard layouts and AltGr, wheel, double-click and drag; Ctrl+Alt+Del with a button; in full screen also Esc, Win and Alt+Tab, where the browser allows it.
-
Clipboard and “Type text”
Copy and paste text between your computer and the remote PC, or have a text typed on the PC when the clipboard is not enough.
-
Multiple monitors
Choose which monitor of the remote PC to see; the cursor shape is the PC’s.
-
View only
Watch the screen without sending keyboard and mouse, for example to follow the work of whoever is at the PC.
-
Smooth video
The PC encodes video in H.264 with its NVIDIA or Intel graphics card, when it has one, otherwise with the OpenH264 software codec; up to 60 frames per second.
Network and security
-
Direct connection
With WebRTC the browser and the PC connect directly whenever the network allows it.
-
Relay when needed
Otherwise traffic goes through our relay server in Italy, always encrypted.
-
End-to-end encryption
Video, keyboard, mouse and clipboard are encrypted between the PC and the browser; the parameters of every session are signed by the devices.
-
Mandatory second factor
Every account has a second factor: authenticator app, security key or passkey.
