Terms of use
Version beta-2026-10-14 · effective from 14 October 2026
These terms govern the use of Walkie Desk, the remote desktop service provided by iDev S.r.l., registered office at Via Luigi Goia 102, 27036 Mortara (PV), Italy, VAT no. 02656830185 (“iDev”, “we”). Walkie Desk includes the program to be installed on Windows PCs, the walkiedesk.app website with the user area and the browser viewer, and the servers that put devices in contact and relay traffic when needed. By creating an account you accept these terms; the way we process personal data is described in the privacy notice. These terms are written in Italian and English; in case of differences, the Italian version prevails.
1. Service in beta
Walkie Desk is in beta: it is an experimental service, still under development. Features may change, be added or removed, and may contain errors. The service may be interrupted, slowed down or suspended, even without notice, for example for updates, maintenance or faults. During the beta we do not guarantee availability, continuity or service levels, and support is offered by email at info@walkiedesk.app with no guaranteed response times. During the beta, please do not rely on Walkie Desk for activities where an interruption of the service would cause you serious harm, and always keep another way to reach important PCs.
2. Free of charge, trial and licences
During the beta Walkie Desk is free: we do not ask you for any payment or payment details. Each new account has a 14-day trial that starts when registration is completed; the trial can be used only once per account and only once per PC. At the end of the trial, without a licence, the account remains accessible but cannot open new remote sessions. iDev may grant free licences to beta participants, on the conditions and for the duration stated when they are granted. Any paid plans will be offered under separate terms and will never be charged to you without your explicit agreement.
3. Account
- To create an account you must be an adult and provide true information, including an email address that you use and verify.
- The second authentication factor is mandatory. You must keep your password, second factor, recovery codes and recovery key safe and not share them: every team user uses their own access.
- You are responsible for what is done with your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password and write to us at once at info@walkiedesk.app.
- If you add other users to your account, you make sure that they also comply with these terms.
4. Lawful use and authorisation to access PCs
You may install Walkie Desk on, and connect to, only PCs that are yours or PCs for which you have the authorisation of whoever has control of them (for example their owner or the company that manages them). If the PCs are used by other people, you must inform them that the PCs can be reached remotely and comply with the rules that protect them, including those on personal data protection and, for employees, on remote monitoring. PCs paired with an account can be reached without someone accepting each connection: for this reason, during every session the controlled PC shows an indicator with who is connected and the option to end the session, which you must not hide or circumvent.
In particular, it is forbidden to:
- access or attempt to access PCs, networks or data without authorisation;
- use Walkie Desk for scams, including fake technical support, to obtain money, credentials or data by deception, or to monitor people without their knowledge;
- spread malware, breach the confidentiality of communications or the rights of others, or carry out any unlawful activity;
- attack, overload or circumvent the security measures of the service, and decompile or modify the software except where permitted by law;
- circumvent the limits of the trial or of licences, for example by creating several accounts;
- resell or provide the service to third parties as your own service without a written agreement with iDev;
- use Walkie Desk to control systems whose malfunction could cause death, personal injury or serious damage to property or the environment, such as medical devices or critical industrial plants.
5. Data and content processed during sessions
The content of sessions (screen, keyboard, mouse, clipboard) travels end-to-end encrypted and iDev does not access it. You decide which PCs to connect to and what to do during sessions: you are responsible for complying with data protection law for the personal data you see or process on the PCs you connect to. During sessions, whoever is sitting at the controlled PC is shown your name or, if missing, your email address, partly hidden, which the program keeps on the PC as described in the privacy notice.
6. Software
iDev grants you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Windows program and the other parts of the service, only to use Walkie Desk under these terms and for the lifetime of your account. The program is downloaded from the user area and may notify you of, or install, updates: keep it up to date, because versions that are no longer supported may stop working. Some third-party components are distributed under their own licences, listed in the program. The Walkie Desk name, brand and software belong to iDev.
7. Abuse reports
Anyone can report unlawful use of Walkie Desk to us by writing to info@walkiedesk.app. We check reports and may take the measures in point 8; where the law requires it or a crime is suspected, we may disclose the necessary data to the competent authorities.
8. Suspension and closure
We may suspend or limit your account, revoke access to paired PCs or close the account if you breach these terms, if your use puts the security of the service or of others at risk, or if an authority asks us to. As a rule we notify you beforehand and tell you the reason; in serious or urgent cases, such as scams or unauthorised access, we may act immediately, without notice. You can stop using Walkie Desk at any time and ask for your account to be closed and your data deleted by writing to info@walkiedesk.app.
9. End of the beta and changes
iDev may end the beta or discontinue the service at any time; except in urgent cases we notify you by email at least 15 days in advance, telling you how to continue and how to export or delete your data. At the end of the beta the service may continue under new terms, which you will have to accept to keep using it. We may change these terms during the beta too: each version has an identifier and a date, and the new one is shown to you at your next sign-in; if you do not accept it, you can close your account.
10. Warranties and liability
During the beta the service is provided free of charge and “as is”, without warranties of uninterrupted operation, absence of errors or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, iDev is not liable for indirect damage, loss of data, loss of profit or business interruption arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence. You are responsible for your use of the service and will hold iDev harmless from third-party claims arising from your use in breach of these terms or of the law, such as unauthorised access to a PC. If you are a consumer, the rights granted to you by law that cannot be limited by contract remain unaffected.
11. Communications
We write to the email address of your account. You can write to us at info@walkiedesk.app or to the certified email (PEC) idevsrl@pec.it.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law. For disputes with those acting for business or professional purposes, the courts of Pavia (Italy) have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, the court of the place where you reside or are domiciled has jurisdiction, and the protective rules of the country where you habitually reside remain unaffected. These terms are written in Italian and English; in case of differences, the Italian version prevails.
